Libertarians arrested, released for bearing arms
From Free-Market.net's Freedom News Links Section

Source: Rocky Mountain News

Rick Stanley (Libertarian candidate for U.S. Senate) and Duncan Philp were arrested for carrying weapons at a Bill of Rights Day celebration. They were released pending trial for violating a Denver victim disarmament ordinance. The act of civil disobedience -- they informed police in advance of their intentions -- is intended to challenge the ordinance as unconstitutional. (12/18/01)

Free-Market.net linked this mention to the Rocky Mountain News coverage of the arrest. We thank them for the inclusion in their links listing. They of course, were unaware that the story contained serious factual errors. They rely on mass media to compile their listings, so please don't write to
Free-Market.net to express dissatisfaction - they have
acted responsibly in this matter.

This does of course illustrate our point of how egregious an error the Rocky Mountain News' mistake really is. All the more reason to make sure that they run a retraction of their story in a prominent place. To read the news release Rick issued in response to this article please see
