SENATE HOPEFUL HELD
ON GUN CHARGE
From the
Denver Post Metro Briefs - Sunday, December 16, 2001
| Rick Stanley, a
Libertarian candidate for the U.S. Senate, was arrested
on a gun charge Saturday for carrying a loaded weapon to
challenge a city gun-control ordinance. Stanley, 46, had the weapon in a holster, said his spokeswoman, Michelle Konieczny. A Denver ordinance bars openly carrying guns. Stanley and a supporter arrested on the same charge were being held at the Denver jail awaiting booking Saturday night. They plan to seek a jury trial to challenge the constitutionality of the ordinance, Konieczny said. |
